WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND ON THE BEACH

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES FOR JUNE 25-27
 
"HELP OUR VETERANS"   Fund Raiser for those that keep us safe!!
SUNDAY, JUNE 27, 2010  -  11 AM UNTIL ?
JULIANS ON HWY. 179  LITTLE RIVER, SC
 
This event is to raise money for the VETERANS WELCOME HOME & RESOURCE CENTER and is being sponsored by the Rotary Club of Little River and Marlisa.   Beginning at 2 pm music will be provided by Marlisa (if you have not heard her perform, now is your chance to hear a fantastic entertainer that can perform a variety of music).  I have had the opportunity to hear her sing on various occasions and each time I am just amazed at her awesome talent.
 
Hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans & sauerkraut will be served and the cost is $2.00 per plate.  If you have any questions call 843-424-1638.  COME OUT AND SUPPORT A GREAT AMERICAN EVENT!
 
 
COOL SUMMER EVENINGS @ BROOKGREEN GARDENS
 
US 17 SOUTH across from Huntington Beach State Park
After the heat of the day has passed and you are looking for a relaxing venue for the evening, look no further than BROOKGREEN GARDENS.  Every Wednesday, Thursday & Friday evenings you will be entertained with live music from various artists from across the Carolinas. 
 
Tonight you will be entertained by THE HUNGRY MONKS that will be performing Celtic music.  Every Friday night the stage lineup changes and performances begin at 7:00 pm.
 
Beginning on July 1 and running every Thursday evening until July 29 guests of the evening event will have the opportunity to see "A CAROLINA PIRATE: ANNE BONNEY & COMPANY."  This is an historic drama that will delight the entire family.
 
Friday, July 2 BIG BANG BOOM  will be performing starting at 7:00 pm.
 
Each Wednesday night guests of Brookgreen Gardens will be delighted to hear the sounds of "THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE: THE MUSIC OF STEPHEN SONDHEIM."  Andrew Fowler, music director, keyboardist and composer-in-residence of the Carolina Master Chorale will conduct the music compilation.  Selections will include works from such shows as "Gypsy," "A Little Night Music," & "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum."
 
Each performance will take place on the lawn area by the Pavilion Restaurant.  The cost is FREE with garden admission, which is good for seven days and is - Adults - $12.00 ages 13-64; Seniors - $10.00 65 & older  and Children - $6.00  4-12 years.  Brookgreen Gardens is a self-supported, non-profit institution and your admission tickets & other purchases play an essential part in its preservation for future generations.
NOTE: Bring lawn chairs or blankets; no outside alcoholic beverages permitted; no pets allowed.

Friday Night - Enjoy the sounds of a strolling DIXIELAND BAND beginning & 8:00 pm.
Saturday Night - June 26 - JOHN WESLEY SATTERFIELD performing Americana/bluegrass music at Plyler Park at 8:00 pm.  FREE to the public.
Sunday Night - Street performers will entertain throughout the downtown boardwalk area (9th Avenue N. to Mr. Joe White Avenue.  7 pm - 10pm
