SUCCESS * SUCCESS * SUCCESS
Wednesday, October 28, 2010 will go down as one of the most successful
fundraising days for BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Karen Berry
donated hours of her time to make this event the first of its kind. Females from Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvania, North Carolina & South Carolina donated their bras to form the first ever BRAS ACROSS THE WATERWAY. It was definitely a sight to see as the boat made its way across the waterway with the donated bras.
Bras were also tied together and wrapped around Filet's down past the marina and all the way down and back up in front of REMAX, Harborgate Marina, and Freedom Boat Club.
Thanks also goes out to 94.9 Radio, Channel 13, the bands that provided music and to the people who prepared the delicious food. All Volunteers are to be commended for a tremendous job - hard work and a lot of determination made
this a one of a kind event. We look forward to an even bigger and better year in 2011.
As a quick footnote - I overheard a gentleman from North Carolina praising Karen Berry for the fabulous job that she did and thanking her for all the effort she had put forth to make the BRAS ACROSS THE WATER such a success. Well, Karen, you have "Come A Long Way Baby" and I am so very proud of you and glad to call you my friend. How much better this world would be if there were more people like you who gave so unselfishly to help find a cure for BREAST CANCER.
