PAWLEYS ISLAND FESTIVAL OF MUSIC & ART is once again embracing Fall in coastal style on the gorgeous grounds of BROOKGREEN GARDENS. Wine tasting, art, an independent film series and musical performances are the order of the day for festival attendees. For 21 years the festival has provided entertainment in various venues over a period of several days.
On Friday, September 23 beginning at 7:00 pm the 12th Annual Pawleys Island Wine Gala will be held at The Reserve Golf Club of Pawleys Island. Sample wines from over 80 renowned wineries while you enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres and live entertainment. Tickets are available by calling 843-626-8911.
Saturday, September 24 at 7:00 pm the contemporary jazz group SPYRO GYRA will take the stage and perform such renowned contemporary jazz hits as "Morning Dane" and "Shaker Song." This group is responsible for over 25 albums since their inception in the seventies. Tickets are on sale for $25 to $35.
THE KICKIN GRASS BAND will perform on Sunday, September 25 at Brookgreen Gardens at 5:15 pm. The telling of true-to-life stories along with innovative bluegrass instrumentation is the signature style of this group. Call 843-626-8911 for ticket information.
Other performances on tap for next week include: Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 pm - BALL IN THE HOUSE - classic harmony group blends a wide range of influences from classic R&B to pop and hip-hop to gospel; Friday, September 30 at 7:00 pm - DAVID OSBORNE TRIO - known as the "Pianist to the Presidents" and includes classical, jazz, romantic, pop, Broadway show tunes, inspirational and patriotic music; Saturday, October 1 - THE HIT MEN - a seven piece band promises to create and perform a musical dance review that transcends musical boundaries.
