Dragon Boat Racing, in its fifth year, will pit rowing teams against each other to see which boat paddles across the finish line first. This year there are 54 teams participating in the race as the very colorfully decorated boats take to the water. There will be 4 teams at a time racing as the boats take to the water at 8:00 am. This exciting event will be held Saturday, April 27 at Grand Park at Market Common (the former Air Force Base). Entertainment, a family fun zone along with vendors offering food and beverages will also be part of the festival.
The proceeds from this event will benefit Ground Zero which is a local non-profit group that is committed to transforming teenagers lives. The Sidewalk Prophets and American Idol's Jason Castro will be performing for event goers. Admission is FREE and for more information you may call 843-497-0580 or go to groundzeromb.com.
